I'm just not seeing much rice ground being turned into orchards in my part of the state. In fact most rice farmers hate orchards. Walnuts are king here right now but the walnuts are replacing prune trees and peach trees not rice fields

Oh. With most orchards going away from flooding and putting in drip/mist systems for irrigation. They really don't have that big of a pull on the water as they did a years ago.

I don't know about all that. What was orchard land has been orchard land around here forever. Only thing that has change has been the type of trees. Like walnuts are the hot ticket now. Lots of guy changing out for them.
