Action camera needed

Postby bke9066 » Sun Sep 28, 2014 9:34 pm

I am looking for a camera other than a go-pro. I have found a few under $100 (I don't want to invest a lot if it does not work). Anyone have any thoughts on a quality product.
Im looking at the Polaroid XS20 or XS80..

You are gonna get what you pay for. I don't have any experience with anything other than the gopro, so I'm not much help. But it might help to know what you are planning on doing with it, and what you want it to be able to do.

Try craigslist for a gopro if you want an action camera. I found mine on there for $100, I'm pretty sure it was stolen but it works awesome!

Just make sure whatever you decide on is shock proof then. I had a cheap one quite a while ago. A wall mart special kind of deal. When I put it on my gun it would skip when I shot.

I have the gopro hero 3+ silver. I mount it on my head for goose hunting. If you want to see what some of the video looks like, you can PM me your email and I send you a couple clips to see if it's what you're looking for.

No, the distortion on the video and square shape is not what I'm looking for. I would like a smaller round on to mount under the barrel

I know there's a thread on here by TomKat that was about a cylindrical camera that he used. Sounds like what you're looking of but I can't remember what the camera was.

Looks like it was the Sony Action Cam.

This is a video fron my Sony action cam, hdr as15. I had it in tge waterproof case cause of possible rain, muffled the sound. Plus it made for some good screenshots.

I'm probably retarded, but how do you get you video uploaded to YouTube so clear? Mine always load up real shitty.

I took the SD card from camera and put it in my phone, I then use the youtube app to upload.

Don't ask me why, but that bottom pic took me back to playing Doom on an old PC...

Can't do that with an iPhone. :-(
I upload them on a PC. Kinda pisses me me off. Get awesome video with the gopro, then it's all grainy and shitty when I put it on YouTube. @olly know how I can fix that? Or any other computer nerds?
