Here is mine. 13'6" with a 18 hp Copperhead.

I really like that, I've been thinking about getting a 2nd smaller boat between 10ft-12ft for when I hunt alone.

Not a four rivers. They are made by a company here in Florida. 13'6" and 68" wide. With me and hunting gear it runs 25 mph. I spent yesterday camouflaging the top deck and installed a led bow light. I bought it just before duck season last year. So far I've coated the bottom with Gator glide, installed led interior lights, bilge pump and had a snap on condura travel cover made for it.

Heres some pictures of the boat I ran last year. I sold it this spring, but really enjoyed it and kinda wish I still had it.

I bought the boat, motor and trailer for $800, put about $300 into it. It was a late 80s 17 Bass Tracker hull, and 99 Yamaha 25hp tiller motor.

It was in decent shape. I basically stripped it inside and out. I build a custom rear bench/gas inclosure with dry storage. Also put a new deck on the front with storage under. The floor plan was great...WIDE OPEN.

I painted the oustide and inside with Rustoleum Primer, then Parkers duck paint. Then I stenciled with Styx-River stencil. I also Herculined the entire inside of the boat. I also added some lights on the front for decoy set up, and swamp hunting.

Its was the first boat transformation I did, and really enjoyed the process. Lotta beer, and sweat went into that boat.

Dude posted it for $1100 at 4:25 pm. I called him at 4:31 and said I was 6 hrs away, and if he took $800 I'd be there by noon the next day. He said ok. I took the next day off and left at 4am, got there at 10am. Ran the motor, and drove away like I just hit the lotto.

I enjoy doing the whole flipping thing, so I decided to sell it. I'll do it again in the next month or so. I ended up selling it for right at $3300.

If this is NCbufflehead, I think I know why.

They hunt up a little further north in the sound, and the water can get really big, really quick up there. I'm hunting the Cape Fear River, and back bays off the ICW, and river. Everyonce in a while the river will stack up 3-4 and get really scary when its falling/rising against the wind.

I get it. I always think that you guys hunt similar situations to me, since the land is almost identical, but I often forget that the sounds down there are a LOT bigger than the coastal bays here. And rarely am I cutting across a large body of water- if conditions get ugly, I can always hug the shore back around to somewhere safe. That being said, after being out a lot in my hybrid, I don't feel very safe in even the 48 jons. If I could, I would make a 14' hybrid, and take that bitch anywhere, but it would be cost prohibitive for what I consider a "disposable" boat.

up here you see 20-25' boats painted green and loaded with decoys. you hardly ever see a aluminum boat and when you do, they're usualy not from here.

my blinds are not very far from a private access but i usualy leave from here on the island unless it's blowing more than 20-25.

Next I sanded the bottom and applied Gator Glide.

Found a trailer for it.

Ordered a Copperhead 18hp for it.

Had to cut down and reglass the transom for the proper 15" height.

Got it rigged and went for a test run.

Finished the camo last weekend.

Mounted the new LED bow light.

About a 100 other things that I have not mentioned but I'm still improving it.

It's perfect for the lakes we hunt and for our lease. Since all our lake were all but dry it has been perfect for mud.

Although I hunt by myself in it. This new boat is like alot larger than my Aurthur Armstrong Widgeon was and they claim it will hunt two.

Do you mean on dry land? No not easily. It does float in ankle deep water so unless I run it up on the hill it will go most anywhere.
The Gator Glide makes it slide on grass and vegetation so it could be pulled off by one person if needed.

I see soooo much benefit from one especially being able to drop into any river I want and go. I would go with a hybrid but the solid construction Fiberglas has me sold. Nothing to delaminate on me and it needs to be big enough for a dog.
