Question for Jehler AKA (boomerang)

So I may be selling my boat with the 50 Johnson for a bigger boat with a 75 Johnson and a jet. The motor is a little older then my 50hp and its making me a little apprehensive. I'm fairly sure The 75hp is a 1976 the model number is 75ER76D. I can't find a match with the D at the end but I'm still thinking its a 76.

Can I expect the same quality with the 76 as I've had with my 81? Any insight or info would be appreciated. Oh and it's a screaming deal if it runs like the owner says it does.

Damn boot your getting before my time!

I'll stop at the ole shop and type that model number in and see what year it says, I'll Ask the older guys there for Ny input on it. I know that they changed from standard to electronic ignition in 1974 so I'm guessing it will be real similar

It's a 76 boot, My man told me it's a strong motor only issue was electric shift won't be an issue because you got a Jet drive

More to come as I do a little fiberglass work and figure out what I'm going to do for the floor.

Well with duck season over the new boat is at my gramps shop and under construction. I found a few weak spots in the floor over last summer and completely gutted and sanded the floor down. Some sections of the floor had to be removed and replaced.

Today we cut new floor sections and put in a bilge pump and livewell pump.

Tomorrow gramps is going to start building the livewell that will be under the front deck we will be building.

I'm hoping to fish out of it by April. But we shall see. I need to kick this cold so I can get after it.
