I have heard of guys putting large sheet of black plastic on a dry slough with dekes.

It worked for them.

We used to have a member here who hunted what he called "plonds".
Idk where he went though.

The old plond...I'm gonna do that one day just so I can say I killed a duck over a tarp.

Its just like he said black sheeting on the plywood top. Some cat tails and other debri on the sides where we peek out of the boat. Thinking about adding some kind of muskrat den looking thing to it. Birds over head see the black and hopefully think its a waterpatch with weeds next to the decoys. Cant do photos.

A lot of geese were harvested in the Katy prairie area in the early 80's. A severe drought had stopped some after flow into the fields and guides resorted to huge "plonds" . The bags over the boat is an interesting concept.
