Nice Bill! Those are some big snow geese.

It all boils down to the old location vs. groceries argument to get em that big.

There is no such thing as chicken growth hormones. At least commercially.

Please keep thread on topic. This about entries for the April photo contest.

A drake Wood Duck together with an albino hen Wood Duck was a surprise.

Nice pic but how do you know it was a hen? The white ring around her eye?

There was another Wood Duck drake further away with a hen swimming beside him. I figured since the two pictured were inseparable the entire time the albino was a hen as well. The orange eye ring also seemed appropriate for a hen. Also, its head bonnet toward the back seemed to favor a hen instead of a drake. Regardless that was my take on it. The bill color seems to favor a drake more than a hen. Go figure. :D

It looks yellow to me. I've never shot a woodduck, but dont all the hens have the yellow eye ring?

Photo contest guys. We did this earlier and I was part to blame but we've got plenty of threads for jackassery.

I agree with Ollie and 3 legged lab.

I do not feel this thread is appropriate for our young grandchildren to check out the waterfowl pictures submitted for the photo contest for fear of them reading some of the content posted.

It would be much appreciated if members would please stick to topic as requested by the Administrator and Forum Monitors.

Best,
Tom

I concur. My apologies for the part I played. Maybe an upper level mod can delete the nonsense.
