Totally off the subject but I was just thinking about your story and what I bet was your surprise.
And it reminded me of a few years back my kids were raising silky chickens and man are they prolific.
So we had 60 or so on the ranch and they started disappearing.
They got down to a half dozen or so and I knew I had to do something.
I figured it was a fox.
So I killed one of the remaining birds and hung it about 4' off the ground.
Under it I set four leg traps.
About 2am I heard one heck of a commotion out back and headed out as fast as I could.
In the traps were two full grown German Shepard's.
One with two feet in two separate traps and one with one foot caught.
So I calmed them down and made sure they weren't going to turn on me , got them out and jumped on my four wheeler and followed them.
They headed through the orchards and ended up at a neighbors house 1/2 mile down the road.
We had a talk and they never came back.
But I was sure surprised that morning when I found them.
