that just leaves more room for water to flow so I can run the outboard higher and get shallower. The Duck Hammer wrote:Damn

Yep, getting a big boat in very shallow is generally key for bowfishing. Hard to put a 6.5' deck on a kayak.

Yup. With no fish should draft 6". Should be able to push through 4" with my fan when I get it hooked up. Fish don't get much shallower than that unless they are spawning. Then I usually walk.

What's this fan you keep talking about?

What's a setup like that cost? How quick will it push you?

They push real good. I've never been on a boat with one but fished around a few. It all depends on how good of stuff you get. I'm planning on around 3k for the Sparta I want to get. Flat bottom boats with a good fan will go 10-15mph depending on size and everything. I've seen some smaller boats that build them up and use as primary motor. They claim up to 25mph unloaded.

How is that better than a trolling motor? I'm probably wrong but I could see a big fan like that transferring as much vibration into the water an electric trolling motor.
