I wish I could meet and grab all the young ladies that buy it. The wife took 4 quarts in yesterday and two females caught her selling it.
"Is that honey?".
The buyer did the sales pitch for me and sold two quarts to the girls in family medicine. This happens a lot!
It sells itself.

That's forty eight frns

I share this honey gab because it's real. You too could supplement your hunting fund with honey loot.

The greatest reward of all is when a big fat man wants to shake my hand and thank me for curing his constant allergy headaches. That's why I'll take the stings.
Ever have an allergy migraine? It's awful

For a few years I passed out samples in Arkansas.
They call me " the beekeeper" at big lake.

He must've given up.
He got my truck running then ran it out of fuel and can't get it going again.
His diesel Ford is sitting across the street broken down.
Life sucks for him he spent $400 on batteries.
Poor guy.

I wish it'd just die.

I've got to build one...
Saw video of a guy catching a bee swarm in a trash can.
Need a few things starting with one of these.
81WX-pV9wZL.jpg

Tape this to it with gorilla tape.
20230505_064119.jpg

Then connect a roller extension that's 23 feet long.
You can reach up and knock the bees into the mesh can.
Just stand there a while and all the bees go to the trash can.
Amazing. Easy money.
A 5# swarm is worth about $200

Don't really like these bushes. They're supposed to be dwarf size but if I quit hacking away at them they'll get large. Beware of ads with cute pictures. They do smell good.
Happy spring!

Have seen a few "what's in your blind bag?" threads and something I noticed missing is a dry towel.
I took one for the dog and ended up using it on me.
Seems like a good idea. A dry kitchen towel. Something.
Keep a bath towel or two in the truck.
Yuh never know.

Let's fight about knives in an effort to virtue signal who is the best whatever.
The knife bragging ...
At Kenny's place someone got the idea I needed loot so they all were paying me a buck a duck to breast their ducks. Two ten-man blinds....120 ducks a day. Not every day of course
Have any of you handled that many?

Never cleaned that many in a day, but the old $20 Buck knife I bought in the late 70's still works just fine

My Ole pappy was always either reading a book or sharpening a knife. There were two of these left out for me to find.
16835583153532639480740031559147.jpg

An heir to Abraham Lincoln gave me this one.
16835583742938479948447979757276.jpg

I'm no expert but my grandfather taught me something about looking for the number of stars on a Case blade.
Maybe I'm wrong it's been fifty years.
I like buck knives they sharpen pretty easy and work but cutting wing and leg bones will dull the blade.
Use a leather strap and polish them razor sharp.

Bee stings.
I rarely get stung.
Today I had to go thru a hive that is in the process of recovering from swarming.
The mated queen leaves with swarm.
The "mother hive" had ripe queen cells.
Took them to make splits.
Hoped "mama" would make more.
I had to check and got hit once on each elbow.
It's weird but I tend to get stung where I need it.
My elbows have been sore.
A bee sting actually feels great a day later.
Weird but true.
It's medicine.

All is well the mother hive has ripe queen cells. One will be successful.

Since I got Millet feed has went from 60 to 80 frns.
He eats good. Can of fish every day still. Today was pink salmon.

The fish farts were ripe last night.
He's gotten a little fat so I cut him back to 3 cups/day plus the fish. Yankeegray feeds his dogs more but no fish.

When I worked in Alaska I made friends with the mayor of Akiak. A sled dog racer. He fed his dogs salmon from the river. If it's OK for Iditarod racing dogs then it's OK for my retriever.

Funny exchange in a bee thread...
Commenter says how amazing it is that beekeepers develop resistance to bee venom like a super power.
Next comment:
Surviving bear attacks makes it easier to kill them.
