Just bought a 1995 Lund Laker 16'. Boat has electrolytic corrosion issues but I got it for $261. I think I can repair it and flip it.
Anyone here ever use HTS 2000 aluminum brazing rod?

$261? Who were you haggling with?

Actually I had just bought a 9.9 Evinrude from him, long shaft, electric start. Gonna be the new kicker on my Grady. He was babbling about some boat he had that had holes in it and on and on. I was leaving when I spotted the Lund. I pulled back in and he asked m what I had forgotten. We talked about the boat, I checked it out, and then I asked him for a price. He started at about $600. I talked to him a little more, then I emptied my wallet and my pockets, dug a 20 out of the console of the Suburban. Counted it up, told him" I am not looking to insult you but all I have with me is $261. He hemmed and hawed, said something about $500, then proceeded to tell me he needed ti get it out of there so he could use the trailer for something else. I waved my little wad of cash a couple of times, he got this disgusted look on his face and then he said "Hell with it!! Take it for $261." Then I asked if ?I could use his trailer to bring it home - roughly 1.5 hours each way. "yeah, go ahead"

Looking forward to getting my shipment of HTS-2000 and see if I can repair it.

I bought myself a new boat a few weeks ago. It took eight weeks from the order date to build and deliver, but I was okay with this. We were having a lot rain during that time and the bayous and lakes were full.
Timmmmme to start fishing again! In my younger years, before marriage, my life was bass tournaments and duck hunting, 24/7. I've slowly increased my time in the blind the last few years and now the fishing is back on. :D My son is married now and has recently given us a beautiful grand daughter, and my daughter is starting college this fall. I figured I'd get to use the boat a few times before I'd have to sell it to fund her education.
I didn't want the fiberglass hull and carpet as was the "bass rigs" I've had so I could use it to run the marsh, crab and haul stuff and would not have to deal with mud in the carpet. It's an Xpress XP 200 explorer model (20') with a 150 4 stroke. It's open floor plan was just what I was looking for in a boat. I've taken it out a couple of times so far to break in the motor and I really love it. I have some tweaking to do on the jack plate, and this weekend I'll play with it after my morning fishing trip on Saturday.

Congrats Dave!!!!!! Smart thinking about the utilitarian non-carpet flooring, and a good looking rig

I was elsewhere piddling around with the old 4840 and didn't get out until dark thirty, so I've not seen it, but the fellow who did it told me it was dry enough to knock everything down. Doug say's "that's it" for the hired work, though, so I'll go hit your end again with our little tool and try to hurt the cutgrass bad enough to kill most of it while it's down. We'll see...

Rogers came out with their flyer this week, the field and stream store had a sale, amazon and Wally World had a thing on July 15, and I needed the squid chain for the white marlins in va beach. Hopefully nothing for a while now.
