On my way to Houston to pick up my wife after a 19 day trip to California and Peru. Can't wait to see her, it was a long 19 days. Will have time to visit my Uncle and Cousin in Danbury on the way to the airport.

I think Hess is around there too - those shops were pretty much all founded by former Marbles employees when they went to Asian steel

I've always been a fan of bark rivers.

The Offical WFF BS Thread!

Postby DeadEye_Dan » Sat Jul 26, 2014 5:01 pm

Just used what I refer to as a "conventional notch". Flat horizontal cut on the front 1/3 way through the tree and then a 45° cut above that, down to the horizontal to creat a notch, then a horizontal cut through the backside about 1" above the horizontal cut on the face.

The video just picks up the backside cut into the felling notch.

Remember you did one with one flat cut on front then one flat cut on backside just above the other. Been meaning to try that for awhile.

Oh, yeah. That was cutting a tree for a friend who had a little saw - guessing a 12" bar?? And that tree was 16-18", so I sort of made a small step and then plunge cut the heart wood, and cut through from the backside.

That was so 20th century. Now Germans are just into wearing black turtle necks and really really weird sex.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams
