Not many teal flying, so we moved out to the bay to try and catch some geese coming back from the fields.

Love hunting big birds over water. Good luck!

Me too. And it's a lot nicer when there is actually water too. This spot had ankle deep water on a good day last year.

Please do.

Skunked Rick, we spent the morning feeding mosquitoes and watching wood ducks glide in to the pond in front of us...

There are worse ways to start the day than watching wood ducks put in. (Says a guy on his way out the door to lay pipe, and not in the fun way.)

That, and you already have the season's first skunk behind you.

Been there. I'm still jealous you were out there.

Were you with us on the Seminole trip when we started blasting cypress knees? They really aren't as hard as they appear.

No but it was you and I when we sawed that tree in half after a skunk hunt.

Raining outside and the damn bus driver has the AC going wide open. The heater would be nice right now.

Sounds like MI's early teal season was a bit of a bust. I think of all the people I know that were set to go out, I saw one teal killed. Though, to be fair, if ours were to have opened yesterday we would have probably gotten skunked as well. We've got the water, now we just need the birds...

AL's is this coming weekend and I predict big ole' goose egg. I will not be out on opener but I will try before the tea season ends. I was out on Sunday scouting all over and I saw zero birds.

Being the first teal season I bet everyone was afraid of shooting the wrong kind of duck

Made me look. Only 85, but "feels like 100". Which explains why I just donned my third set of dry cloths when it's not yet noon.

Yes the bus. It sucks but it's a hell of a lot better than fighting for a parking place every morning.

I'm not scaling Mount Everest on a bike every morning to go to class. The bus is fine.

this. though I will say that having 8 am class means I get to campus at 6:50, and have found a spot every day. I still have to buy a parking pass though, so today I had to park off campus or get ramrodded by parking services.
