Just can't do it.
Thanks again...having a rough spring.

Uh...guys. I'm sorry and somewhat ashamed to ask but would y'all mind praying for me?
Usually I'm not into these prayer threads but it's my father. He's having some problems.
Pray that I have the strength to handle whatever comes my way and for him to get better please.
Lord help me. Thanks.

aunt betty wrote:Spent the day looking into bee hives. One was so full of bees it was thinking about swarming so I split it into two hives.
aunt betty wrote:Olly, where you live is good for bees but also good for bee pests. Small hive beetles (SHB) is a nasty lil booger that is part of the loss of bees. (they came from Africa on a load of melons) It's easy to manage but you have to do certain things. Ask me about that if you dare.
Varroa Destructor (from asia) is another pest we imported. It's like bee ticks. (mites) They transmit diseases like deformed wing virus (DWV).
If you read up on bees and find the "treatment free" guys forget about that. You will be using organic acid (Formic acid) to treat hives to kill them mites but you never gettem all. There are other chemical treatments as well. Ants make formic acid so it's the most "natural" way to treat for mites.
Don't even look at a Flow-Hive. It works but is sort of a gimmick and very costly.
The inside of a bee hive is not a perfect little world but if you can handle bugs it's a lot of fun.
They're livestock. You have to feed them at times and medicate them as well. (sometimes)
There's a lot of idiots who think they can just "have" bees. The idea is to keep them. This means inspecting the hive(s) every 7-10 days. That way you can head off any problems that come up b4 it's too late.
Part of the great losses of bees are because of people who just want to "have" them. Bee havers end up buying new bees every spring.
I'm in a bee club called Central Eastern Illinois Beekeepers Association (CEIBA)
There are beekeepers from the University of Illinois bee lab that are in the club so I get lots of expert help. Would be glad to share what all I learn.
aunt betty wrote:TR, it's a distraction. They get everyone all fired up about a non-issue. People demand "make a law". So they write a 3500 page document and give congress 10 minutes to look at it. (at 1am in the morning) Then the beaurocrats pressure the politicians to pass the bill or "no more campaign funds". Then the president threatens to shut down the govt if he don't get the votes.
They call it the "pee in the bitches stall" bill and when unveiled...holy fuck we didn't ask for that.

Agreed, except it is not about a chick with a dick. It's about a dick pretending to be a chick.
Ever wonder why they are not described as a dude with tits?
I agree it is a distraction. The question is why the fuck does it work? Why are the people saying that Jared Fogel should be able to shower with teenage girls as long as he claims to feel like a woman not laughed out of office?
