Awesome Nuff! Always wanted to kill a coyote with a bow. Missed one last year at 41 yards.

Do you get to hunt them up there?

I wish the let us shoot mute swans around here. They are getting to be a nuisance. There were 25 or 30 of them on a pond by my house a couple winters ago with one lonely tundra swan mixed in.

Nope. Mallards loved em though. I think with this deeper water they ducks are learning from them. Water is 2' deep along the shore and all the weeds are on bottom. They are too lazy to dive and the swans can reach. So the swans stir it up and the ducks eat the leftovers.

I tried a live swan decoy this morning but it didn't work.

Thsts because it has an orange bill. Those **** are mean. I've water a pair of them chase a whole flock of geese off of a lake.

I know. We should be able to shoot them. They are getting to be quite a nuisance around here.

However, it wasn't the swan. It was the fact that I didn't see a single mallard and only saw two flocks of divers up high. Hardly saw any geese as well. I would have went deer hunting, but it's going to get into the mid 60's and I'm not keen on letting a deer hang at that temperature since I couldn't butcher it straight away if I got one.

That's the first one I've ever shot. I got almost as excited as shooting a deer.

Me too. This one came into 22 yards and got her good. Ran a lot further than expected though. Thought I may have missed at first.

Why didn't you kill the spike? Am I unaware of another Michigan bullshit law?

It was about 100 yards away.
And yes you are. Are you ready...
If you buy a combo deer license you get 2 kill tags. One restricted (4pts on a side) and one nonrestricted. But in the management unit we are in they must have 3 on a side under any circumstances. Unless....you buy a single archery or rifle license. They you are limited to one buck but it can be any size.
Doesn't affect us much because we go by a 3 on top on one side (don't count brow tines) on our property.
If a single 1.5 year old doe comes buy she's getting the arrow though.

Buying my licenses for Michigan every years gives me anxiety. You guys seem to take great pleasure in concocting a very complex, borderline incomprehensible system only to change it completely and start all over again a few years later.

Oh and then throw in the fact that it costs me hundreds of American dollars.

Staying at a house in Missouri this weekend. The bathroom is damn near the size of my bedroom in Fayetteville.
