I would figure its on a national level, something like FDA, since sooo many restaurants expand to other states

Ok so I was extremely wrong on the coffee. Per a Texas health inspector there is no max or min on coffee or hot beverages just a time limit until it has to be discarded which is 4 hours.

Even with today's America I find it hard to believe there are State laws dictating the temp coffee must be served at. I definitely wouldn't believe a federal law exist in the matter.

I read that McDonald's made the coffee hotter so their customers could have their coffee last longer hotter. Or at least that's what they claimed.

I think I saw WTN chime in on this on DHC back in the day, and from the way he made it sound, there was no doubt the woman had a case. If I remember correctly, McDonald's intentionally served their coffee extremely hot so customers were unlikely to get refills because it took so long to cool down. That combined with the fact that she got 3rd degree burns on her legs tells me that there is probably more to the story than she didn't know it was hot.

I'd bet we hit it up here within the week. Was $2.17 yesterday, $2.25 the day before.

No, modern engines sense octane levels and adjust.

Not tuned. Built, the higher octane level just means how much compression the fuel will take until it ignites. In a ford focus it doesn't do shit. In that Mercedes it will preform better.

Probably a normal sight for carolers in the south.

You may want to read up on that hot coffee case... If I am not mistaken the lady got third degree burns and the coffee was thought to be nearly 300*F. She had a real case and should have won.

Water boils at 212* at sea level (14.7 psig). Unless the coffee cup was under around 40 pounds of pressure there is no way it could have been 300*.

Next time you cook Ramen crack 2 eggs in into the water with a minute left. I can't believe I've never done this before.
