Was speaking of the sound of their dives which seems too big for something their size to make. Around the 23 second mark here:

Its a crazy process to scrap here. Need a license and you have to sign an agreement on how you acquired it.

We don't have to have a "license" but you have to register with individual recycling places. Photo ID and they issue you a number.
That's it.
Funny story,...
I took my (then about 7-8 year old) son to the scrapper with me. This black guy that was helping us unload, basically stuttered with the word "motha fucka".
"Alright, let's get that motha fucka outta the truck,...we'll put that motha fucka right over there by that mothafucka...Sheeeeet...that motha fucka weighs 15 motha fuckin pounds!...Alright, take this motha fucka over to that motha fuckin window and get paid..........................motha fucka."

The look on my son's face was priceless! I honestly think he thought the guy spoke a foreign language! ;)
He's 21 now, and I'll never forget that....I

Prices have been down for a while. When they were up we were getting about 3.50/# for no.1 copper. Might also have to do with our proximity to where the local scrapper trucks it to. They pay us about .08 /# for steel, they truck it 5 hours north and get .16/# for it.

LOL! They do look rather large in that pic. ;)
17/204

My coyote killin' load is a real screamer, and it's a little rough on primer pockets, so I decided to back it down a little.
Loaded up a handful and headed to the range to make sure it grouped and printed the same...It did. ;)

It's the right hand group and that's 5 shots. If it weren't for that little "oops" on the left one,...that'd be the best group I've shot with that rifle.

I was actually kind of surprised. I haven't shot in months and had shoulder surgery 7 weeks ago!
I'll take it!

It's a 30g Kindler Gold. Kind of a custom by Todd Kindler of the Woodchuck Den. It's a bad ass little bullet. He manages a boat tail on those little suckers which give it a b.c. of .270. I don't know if you run numbers or not, but run the numbers on a 30g bullet with a bc of .270 running around 4100 fps...it's a lazer.

I've got 50-60' of 1" copper pipe and another 30' or so of 1/2" copper. Even got some brass valves on some of it. Is there a way to figure approx weight of the copper? I don't think I'll ever use it might as well get some shells with it.

In Washington, you have to wait 2 weeks to get paid. They run the description of the scrap through the police, like pawn shops do with their stuff. They had meth heads disassembling bridges over there. All scrap metal has to go through the process, if bought from the public.

Oh, and Tiler. ImageImageImageImage

Separate the brass from the copper or they'll knock you down for being mixed. Step on the bathroom scale with and without it to get an idea of how much weight you have.
Also, if you have more than one scrap place around, call around and find out what they are paying. You'd be surprised how much they can differ. We used to go to "the big place" in town and they always made me feel like they were doing me a favor by taking the junk from me. One day i called the other place and they were paying quite a bit more.
