It's for attention unless you do it like the guy here in town that went across both arms with a radial arm saw. They did save his life and reattach his hands though, so maybe it was just for attention.

Must've been. If it wasn't, he would've slid his arm though the other way. This reminds me of something that recently happened at my school. There was a sophomore class meeting, and one of the parents said homecoming wasn't very good and looked like it had little effort put in to it, so the class president started crying and ran to the vice principle's office. The vice principle told her to wait outside until she wasn't busy, so the girl grabbed a pair of scissors off the vice principle's desk and started cutting her wrists. Crazy bitch.
