Started the day out in my little duck hole. there would happen to be a fishing tournament going on. so we jump ship and made a quick move down the road to where we hunted Saturday, we had to kick off some geese already there and got set up quick first 2 geese came in we let the kids shoot them. next group of 9 came in and we took 6 of them and a ruddy came by we let the young man take him. we ended the day with 8 geese and 1 ruddy duck.

PM huntall and if he doesn't want to take it just skip him to get back on track. If he does then we'll just have to be a week behind. How did that happen? We had a two week gap there.

I haven't seen him on in a while so he might have been part of the crowd that left so if he doesn't respond PM the next person.

All the travelers get pretty beat up as they go along. Don't sweat it if it does.

Just keep it tight to the blind under the line of teal fire. Absolutely positively guarantee that not shooting your decoys will be lower on your hunters' list of priorities than remembering what shirt they wore last Thursday.

Noticed when I put metal wings on it the other day that the one I bought mid teal season has already been shot in the face.

I'm probably the only person who doesn't care if my decoys get shot. I own a glue gun.

 all down hill from there. Once shot it seems it increases the magnetic draw of shot.

Wait until somebody finds half your spread to be necessary casualties of war to kill a flock of redheads. Believe I had a dozen and a half go down one morning including some of my geese. Not a good day. Several were beyond repair as I'd they were the intended target.

Big difference in targeting my decoys and hitting a few on accident.

I own one, too, but it's not worth a flip for long term decoy repair. I usually either "weld" mine with a soldering iron or 3M 5200 them.

As for "caring," I'd rather they didn't get shot but haven't called shots on birds sitting in them since last Sunday. Would rather see a boy hit some birds than keep my decoys safe, though I may waver on that when I go to the blind tomorrow and see how many need plugging. To date, the single day record at my blind is 13, shot by a pair of octogenarians who could no longer hit anything in the air, and we'd do it again if they were able.

When season come back in I will take pictures of my sillos full of holes. I call it ventilation so they don't flex in the wind.

Postby Bad17 » Thu Nov 13, 2014 9:42 pm

I'm the same way about the youngins if the hit the decoys it happens. They don't do it on purpose but I would rather them get some ducks then to not get any at all. My brother is the worst though. No matter what somehow he always manages to kill a decoy. It's kinda become a tradition now. He buys me a dozen every year though.
