Well...with 50 days left until the opener of early goose, and hopefully teal season here in MI, I think it's time to start the countdown.

Missed this before. But yeah...sweet little decoys. Not bad for $40 for a dozen.

You can hunt waterfowl in August, are you sure? Maybe in Canada or what?

Canada usually opens Sep.1

South Dakota has an early goose season in think in August.

The Pacific Flyway meeting is this week. There are no dates set for us yet. It's all speculation and proposals until after the meetings. Oregon's bird regs don't come out until at least August.

For the past 4-5 years our early season has started 15 August and ran until 15 September.

They already confirmed and released the dates for the "experimental early teal season."

Personally, I would rather we didn't have an early teal season... yeah it's nice to have more days to hunt, but MI is far enough north that thousands of juvenile wood ducks are going to get shot and everywhere I know that holds teal, holds other ducks and all an early season is going to do is push local birds in to un-hunt-able areas. Its not like LA, where the majority of the ducks in early September are teal, and most of there larger ducks migrate down later.

This. I hope NY never goes this route.

I hope it is short lived here.
