Mad Max tonight. Fuck ya.

Having been intrigued by the trailer for the new one coming out, I pulled Mad Max up on Netflix the other day.

Honestly, and I'm not just saying this, one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I gritted my teeth and gave it 20 minutes before I had to turn it off. It was like a montage of random events that had no connection whatsoever to anything else in the movie, portrayed by people who had just landed their first acting gig.

I know Mel Gibson went on to become a tremendous actor, but he spent the majority of his screen time in Mad Max with a distant, vacant look on his face that made me suspect that the director had to stop the filming every 20 minutes and remind him where he was and what he was doing.

And then you've got the motorcycle gang, who I'm pretty sure were secretly trying to turn the movie into a musical. When they rolled into town the first time and started prancing around for a minute I thought I'd accidentally queued up a Monty Python skit.

The motorcycle guy screaming "I got it, I got it" and then the little Aborigine kid's boomerang cutting his fingers off was worth the price of admission.

The original isn't great, but you have to appreciate it to appreciate the saga. AK is talking about "the road warrior" which, hands down makes it all watchable. Titz speaks of "mad max" which, if nothing else, gives some background to the story. I love all 3 films.

Yeah, the first Mad Max movie was pretty lame. The Road Warrior was bad ass though.

We're watching 'Pacific Rim', so far I've been on wff 3 times, the chive for a half our, and played WSOP on my phone for 4 tournaments. I could tell I didnt give a shit about this movie 5 minutes in.

I watched a pretty good flic last night.
It wasn't so much a "good" movie, but I liked the subject matter and how it was done.
Basically, the origins of punk rock in NYC, and the story of CBGB.

I just watched one last night, can't remember the name though. It's about a guy that has to do something and falls in love with some girl. She of course loves some other guy that does something different. The guy does his thing, the girl does her thing. They of course end up having some sort of feelings for each other. He moves some place, she doesn't. Some ammount of time passes. They forget about each other and go on with their lives.

Wish I could remember the name. It really sucked.
