Gizzard shad.
lots of herring in the lake also, I suspect that's what I'm marking?

Get on the fish for me John. I've got high expectations.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

Pretty sure the herring thing is just made up. Never seen hide nor hair of herring on our end. Maybe in the old days.

Whitefish and the Giz. That's what you mark.

Hell maybe it is herring, I don't know. It's not hungry kings thats for damned sure.

Hopefully they are herring so junior can learn how to cure them in salt and store them packed in lil cedar cigar boxes like his nordic ancestors use to. Right jehler?

There is probably something cool you can use gizzard shad for, like oil in a lamp or coon bait. Right jehler?

Take the smallest acme kastmaster you can find And put it down by those marks. If they're herring, you'll know.

The Acme Kastmaster is probably one of the all time greatest lures ever made........They don't always catch fish but they cast really well and make you look like you know what you're doing. I wouldn't go freshwater fishing without one.

Technically reggie jackson is mr. October. But that aside let me know a date. Both my openers are in october and who knows what the gf has planned for me. Awesome idea though, thanks. Lil nervous about bill's temper but I'm a very strong swimmer.

Just say 'good shot, bill' whenever a stud drake rains out of a flock and we won't have a problem.

Easy enough. Would probably keep a pocket full of cheddar cubes to slip ya from time to time to keep your head straight too.
