Not sure if any of you have ever had the opportunity to see hoar frost but it can be absolutely beautiful. Usually the result of thick fog and forms on just about any surface. Not the best video but should give you an idea. Wish it was sunny today as that brings it to another level. Almost reminds me of those white flocked trees you can buy in the store.




We have had fog for the last three or so days. Some say if you go 90 days from the fog you can expect good amounts of precipitation. Hopefully that pans out as it will be good for the ducks.

Although I have never personally witnessed it I have seen video where the wind blows the snow and it makes snowballs. Our snow is typically very dry so not a lot of snowball fights or snowman building in these parts.

We've had it and in comparison the stuff you posted looked sturdy. The hoar frost we get is very light and fluffy. A wind gust can clear a tree off.
It's been so long...
Way back in the 1900s we had winters.

It is typically light here as well but we’ve had fog now for like five days so it’s really building up. We’ve lost power several times now. The wind is picking up so that will help shake it off the wires but also it may snap more.

No thank you....I got cold looking at that stuff.

For you guys that think it’s too cold there are some fun perks. Took most of the family tubing the other day. I still enjoy it! Unfortunately our oldest three were not able to join us but still a good time!

I wish they would let you bring your own sleds to this place but I’m sure for liability issues you have to use their tubes. I miss my blade sled from when I was a kid. Also those plastic carpet sleds can really get going!
