Starting a woodduck

Postby Mean Gene » Sat Nov 22, 2014 6:09 pm

Yesterday I started playing around with my first carved cork woodduck. A little rough, but I've got some things to work on for next time and hey, by the time the paint is on it I don't think the real ducks will care if I screwed something up anyway. :l

Interesting to see one raw like that. The feather detail will be cool when it's painted up.

Looking good Gene. Im working with some cork birds for the first time and its kind of difficult for me after carving up a few wood birds. But I think the same way, the birds wont care as much as I do.

Got to say, you are doing much better than me with the cork. That's going to be a styling bird.
