The drake has a mate

Well, this morning I finished painting Mrs. Mallard so Mr. Mallard won't be lonely. Tried to work on some of the suggestions given on the last one. Worked on rounding and smoothness to get rid of flat spots or lines. This one has a bottom board, so it's taller and it sits better in the water. OK, the sink, but it had water in it. :lol: She doesn't have her official keel, because they aren't back from the laser engraver yet...I just screwed something on the bottom so I had a handle.

Cork body, wood head and tail, bottom board.

Damn I didn't see your reference picture. I'm even more impressed! Nice DD poster too.

That is one fine bird Gene. I think the hens are harder to get right than the drakes. Maybe that's why you see 4:1 in the spreads. :D
