Kiowa was the name of my family's first golden's sire and was a field champ of some sort back in the '70s. At the time we lived in Clarence Center, NY, and ran our golden, Red, in trials there for a couple years. Now that I've done a little research, I see that the breeder, Pat Sadler, has named her kennel after him, so I guess the name would be going around back there. This guy came out of Sungold Kennel in WY.

OH! Well then no, I got it from my old dog's dad. It also happens to be the name of an upper Great Plains Tribe that was relocated to Oklahoma and is known for their art being popular with white folks, which I imagine is where they got the name for the helicopter.

Kinda relieved you weren't telling me every other dog in NY is named Kiowa.

That pic I posted of the boy last weekend on his juvy hunt tug did the same thing. I tried to get him to sit next to cody and he acted like he was stepping up to the gallows.
