10-4 on that. Gonna try to start easing my girl in this year. She turned 9 yesterday. My boy is 6 but to small for shotgun. May take them both to watch this year and turn her loose on the 20 ga

Teach them to hunt and when they get older you won't have to hunt for them both my girls always would rather be on the water or in the woods and field

Steele22 wrote:10-4. That's what I wanted to hear. I moved her into my garage with a plastic kids pool full of blankets. Any other suggestions? First time at this. My male got her before I knew she was in

After she births on the blankets replace them with fresh ones or she will probably pull them out to get rid of the blood smell and she might pull the puppy's out with them.
If you have several it would be good because she will have bloody discharge for a day or two.
You probably know she will increase her food intake , make sure the food has a Heavy meat base so she doesn't get Diarrhea , corn and wheat can make her very loose.
I don't like to change feed at stressful times but the puppy's pull a ton of protein from her , i supplement with can food on my GSPs
Because they loose weight very easy ,,my labs are a little easier.
Here is my most recent litter.

I've had both dogs on the pet smart brand adult food. Vet said to mix in some puppy chow, so I've been doing that for last couple weeks. She has been eating a lot but the last 2 days she has really slowed down

We docked there tails the other day but no recent pics
I don't know anything about that food but I'm sure your vet does
I feed lamb and rice , Only because I've seen so many problems with corn but a lot of guys feed it and it works for them.
It's pretty normal for her to back off as she nears birth as long as the food is available she knows what she needs.
She will lick the puppy's to clean them and them again to encourage them to urinate and that's all good just make sure she doesn't cause sores by being over active in that.

But does it glow in the dark like Westie's?
