Still way to early for my tastes. Dragging my feet on all this for the rut to get here. Much more action if you wait it out.

It would be nice to get my two elk before snow is up to my ass.

You got mules or pack them out by hand?

Depends really. If you can get a quad to it or you need to bust ass, just drag it out whole with 2-4 guys. If they are way the hell up in TImbuktu, horses or quartering it out are about your only options.

Never been on an elk hunt. Moose is what I really want to hunt but that's a long way down the road to being able to afford.

I can imagine. Deer hype me up enough, had to imagine what it's be like to shoot an elk with a bow.

All it takes is a fresh, lone bull track in fresh, powdery snow.

5 gooses. Fog really messed with us this morning. Was 200+ geese in the field last night but only about 30 showed.

Hunting gear? I'm talking about packing out elk. Game cart is alright on the plains and stuff but trying to get an elk on top of a game kart over dead fall and shit would be a pain in the ass.
