THIS ^^^^^

I dont like to eat them and I am normally in a bad way, allergy-wise during dove season.
Additionally, I was shot in the face a couple years ago on a dove hunt.

Its also too damn hot for me to want to go dove hunting. I like to hunt in cold weather.

Best of luck to GKR, Jarbo, and all the other KS dove hunters. You can have mine.

I get almost has excited for the dove opener as I do for ducks. Cutting the safflower plots and filling the low swales with water. Everyday prior to the opener watching the fields build with birds. Friggin Stoked  .

Only to have a cold front move in the night before and ruin the whole thing and make it good for the guy that didn't scout a mile away.

What day is your opener? My guess is it coincides directly with either our dove opener or our early teal season. Not ruling it out, as you are just about the same distance as it is back to my stomping grounds, but it would likely be a spur of the moment trip.

Yup, same as ours. I'd actually probably consider it, but my cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) is getting married Aug 31st. So I'll be getting hammered, and somehow managing to make it back to Omaha in time to put down a slaughter.
