Month and half away...who is going to get out and chase doves?

Me! I've shoot dove, but never hunted them. I'm excited!

I dont like to eat them and I am normally in a bad way, allergy-wise during dove season.
Additionally, I was shot in the face a couple years ago on a dove hunt.

Its also too damn hot for me to want to go dove hunting. I like to hunt in cold weather.

Hell yea, dove are awesome. One of the funnest hunts of the year, shitloads of trigger time, and tons of retrieves for Taz.

What day is your opener? My guess is it coincides directly with either our dove opener or our early teal season. Not ruling it out, as you are just about the same distance as it is back to my stomping grounds, but it would likely be a spur of the moment trip.

What day is your opener? My guess is it coincides directly with either our dove opener or our early teal season. Not ruling it out, as you are just about the same distance as it is back to my stomping grounds, but it would likely be a spur of the moment trip.

Yup, same as ours. I'd actually probably consider it, but my cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) is getting married Aug 31st. So I'll be getting hammered, and somehow managing to make it back to Omaha in time to put down a slaughter.
