How far is too far?

How far would you travel one way for a hunt? an hour? Two? Most of the spots I have now are within 45 minutes from my house but I'm scouting a new area and its probably a hour and a halfish maybe less. Doesn't seem too bad but just wondering what everyone else thinks? Seem reasonable to drive three hours round trip for some good looking water?

You'll be mad to hear this but my "go to" spot is a 6 or 7 minute drive from my house. Another excellent spot is 17 miles (25 minutes) from home.

In MI my drive was no more than 30 min, down here I'll be driving a lot more I reckon.

I usually drive less than 20 min one way by car. Sometimes close to an hour for something different. If it meant ducks vs no ducks, I'd drive an hour and a half. If it seems worth it to you, then go for it.

Yall are lucky. I have to drive sometime 3 hours one way to go scout just depending on water levels in the lake from one year to the next , and depending on if the state decide if there gonna spray the crap out of the lake to keep the waterways clean for the bassfisherman and home owners around the lakes.

I hunt about 5 min from the house. If I want to hunt the lakes its 30-45 min.

5 minutes from 4 places I can launch my lil boat, outside of that maybe 45 minutes to get to several other places.

Shit. Sometimes the boat ride is an hour.

My favorite spot is 5 hours from my front door.

I will drive 30 minutes to 5 hours for a hunting trip. All depends on where I feel like being that weekend.

I've taken plenty of trips and that doesn't bother me, but just a regular morning hunt where I have to drive back after. I'm gunna do it a few times and see it will work. Whats the worst that will happen? Waste some gas?

I'm hitting three states outside of my home state this year.

Weekday hunting spot is about a half hour and some paddling away.

Sigh...
Part of the reason I hunt waterfowl is that it is an excuse to indulge in what I call WANDER LUST. Exploring new areas, getting lost, having ADVENTURES that turn into precious stories and memories.
FF is my official autobiographer. If he spends enough time to hear all my stories he will write one hell of a book that y'all will be reading...when I'm dead.
Jarbo wants to be my film biographer.

When I lived in the mobile home I could walk out into the back field and kill two honkers a day. (Until they posted it on me)

I drove 1865 miles(29 hours) one way and didn't even take one shot on two days of hunting in December.
My last hunt was less than 5 minutes from the house and I shot 6 birds. The boat ramp I launched from is barely a mile from my house.
