I'm sure there is mallard in there. The size, green tint on the head and speculum look like mallard, but the blue bill and the feet are not right on that body.

Seriously, I've shot identical birds. Pretty sure it's a black x mallard.

Thats a female black, but notice the bill. The feet can be green also.

My guess would be mallard x wood duck. Looking at the bill and coloration of the feet. Widgeon do not have black on the top of their bills only the tip.

Where you are, I'm more inclined to agree with FF- black mallard.

Shit. I thought I had it pegged as mallard x wigeon. The feet lijook like a woody, wing and body looks like mallard to me, and where the hell is the blue bill from? Maybe it's not clear in the pics but the bill is really blue. I've heard duck hybrids are sterile, but could there be more than two species in there?

Well, never mind then. On my phone the bill looked greenish gray.

Yup. Thats what it is for sure, but I still don't get where the blue bill comes from. Jgun, I will never doubt your duck ID skills again. Banknote, thanks for posting those pics, I never would have believed without seeing that for myself. 50 points for each of you

I will try to figure out what kind of duck is in the op using ¨The LeMaster Method

So we start with the bill.
That bill screams pintail at me.
