Built this today

Postby NuffDaddy » Mon Nov 04, 2013 5:41 pm

Supposed to have 10-20 mph SW winds for tomorrow, so the water will be 1/4 mile from the cattails. Birds really congregate right at the edge, so my plan is to wade out to shin deep water and set this bad boy up.

Hopefully the birds don't mind.

Wanna take bets on whether I can pull this?
Or if it will float?

No marsh seat.
I couldn't push it into the grass very far, but in the sand the polled will sink in about a foot, and I will be in a foot of water. so there should be about 3.5 feet sticking out when it's all set up. I think it's going to work. :-D

That's where I'm going to put my shit so it stays dry.
It will "hide" 2 Hunters with the jet sled between us.

Haha I'm actually worried about that. Not sure if it will stand up to 20mph winds.

What all do you take with you that you need a sled to keep it dry?

What all do you take with you that you need a sled to keep it dry?

Blind bag and my coat once it gets to 55* mid day. And hopefully a few ducks too.
I need the sled to haul everything, so might as well put it next to me.

1/4-1/2 mile probably. Depends on how much water we loose.
Some guys reported 5 foot drops with the last 40mph S wind we had.

Actually went pretty well...Wind is only 10-15. Water wasnt out too bad so I didn't have far to go. That thing was a bitch to pull 150 yards across wet sand though.

We will see how it goes.

If I can fool this guy to land into an all duck spread with a mojo running, then they must not care to much about the blind.

Sounds like I'm in a damn refuge with all the ducks quacking out here. It's ducks as far as I can see to my south.
