South Texas hunting questions

Postby dustin.hall.0309 » Sat Jan 11, 2014 11:32 am

Before next season I will be moving to the Baytown area. I am in need of information on public areas to hunt and tactics for hunting there! I'd like to be prepared to hunt there next season so just wanted info on the types of decoys and spreads to use also!

There's some good goose hunting in the area just a little bit east around Annahuac, Trinity River and so on. Not for sure about any state hunting areas but there's some good duck hunting around there. Look up JB custom calls in Mont Belviou, its on the east side of Baytown off I10, they can probably hook you up.

If you have a shallow running boat there are thousands of square miles of water that you can access, all public domain. For more site specific information look up 2Coolfishing (Totally Texas Message Board), West End Anglers, and Texas Waterfowl Forum.

You're skirting a fine line here with your cyber scouting

I had to look it up too! I think he implied you were an asshole.

Welcome to WFF, if no one else has said it already. :welcome:

Oh, by the way, I'm just screwing with you.

Good luck in the move, there are a few guys on here from Texas. I'm sure they will point you in the right direction. RonE has already given you some good pointers.

I'm not a greenheads chaser. I like to hunt ducks and it don't matter what they are! I just enjoy being out there so I look forward to something new!
