Homemade motion decoys?

Any ideas for them? I'm not talking about jerk cords, I mean stuff like the weasel ball trick.

I have instructions for how to build a flyway feeder type decoy somewhere. If you are interested in that I'll see if I can find them.

If they're cheap, then sure.

Does it use a water pump? if it does, I have an old one from a fishpond, so that may cut down the cost.

Yes

I found the link for where I got the instructions from but the pictures are gone. I have them all saved and could post them up if needed. They have the logo from the other forum board on them, Olly may not like that.

I've built several motion type decoys. Couple of weasel ball rig, a couple of swimming decoys, and a mallard machine. One swimmer uses a bilge bump with a flasher relay from a vehicle. The other uses a AA battery powered little prop you can buy for like $10 and I simply zip tied it too the keel.

I still have bilge pump feeders half way built. I will post a build thread before next season.

You can get them all over the Internet. I found these for $8 a piece on eBay. They will run a 550 GPH bilge pump for about 6 hours constant. I don't know how long using the flasher.

Way smaller than a car battery.

RC boat... cut the bottom out of a decoy and screw it on the boat.

I have a very high tech setup. Jerk string with three decoys and...
Canoe paddle stuck through hole in the blind...twist the paddle back and forth makes ripples. Oh yeah, can paddle the boat with it too. :)

Found out we have a mallard machine in the garage, my dad just doesn't want to use it because he says it's too much hassle.

They work great on windless days but it would be a big pain in the ass to drag in and out of public land. I put mine out when we get water and it stays all season. If you have any wind leave it home.

If carrying it is a problem, then it is no problem cause we hunt out of a boat.
