Good afternoon! I was wondering what you guys think about this up coming duck season here in California with the water shortage?

I think you need to attract more of your CA buddies to this website. I'm not aware of one active CA member.

I've heard it is pretty bad out there. Here's hoping you get some much needed rain. We got some here in northern IL the last couple weeks.

A water shortage may hamper you some, but at least you have a strong migration, and there is always hope for some rain before the season starts, to help things along.
With one of the strongest bird populations, longest seasons, and most liberal limits in the US.......and don't take this the wrong way, but t's kind of hard to feel sorry for you fellas on the West coast :o

San Jose Duck Hunter, looks like my response above reads like pure jealousy  it is :o
Anyway, didn't mean to sound so negative. We're glad to have you on the board, and keep us updated. May the rain gods bestow some wet stuff in the right proportions and places!

Good afternoon guys! I guess your right! I've been very lucky these past 45 years. I've been hunting the same club for 45 years. I love hunting the rice fields of the central valley of California. Things are changing here. Farming has changed a great deal here. Almonds are the big crop now. Cutting back on rice, no sugar beets or cotton. We don't have the wild pheasant population we used to have. All said and done, l still get excited at a flight of sprig or bunch of specks talking back at you with their feet down!! Have a great day and a wonderful duck season every one!!
