D U Survey results

head over to the DU web site and take a look at this years duck numbers. They estimate the population at 34.02 million birds, down from last year for sure but when you look at 2016's numbers there were 48.3 million birds. That is a precipitous drop that does not bode well for the future of water fowling. I seem to remember at one PGC waterfowl symposium they stated a federal cutoff number for the ducks where duck hunting was closed based on population count but I don't remember exactly what that number was. Seems like we are moving in that direction. So this validates all the guys who say "where's the ducks" .......they're gone..... 14 million of em....

While the numbers are down from recent highs, they are only slightly below the long term average.

Staying well above the long term average was not realistic. Let's hope they don't go well below, but at some point the series of bad weather will push the numbers well below average. Average means about half the time it's above and half below.

Preposterous.
There are people that earn their livings off our hobby.
This phrase should make you sick...
"The hunting industry" can not fail its too big to fail.
Ha!
Been telling them guys to get out their carpentry tools and get "real jobs" for a few years.
They don't like it when you're a little too real.
It's climate change "just send money it will be just fine"
