We were pretty excited but as things sometimes go the birds went to the other water and then they started going back-and-forth from that water to the corn. Normally we would’ve hunted the corn but it was too close to a house. Only had a handful of birds come back to us. Managed three drakes. Should’ve had a few more but we obviously left our shooting skills at home ha ha

Have no clue. Dummy with a gun. Back in my pheasant hunting days I kept mental notes on where that type of grass grows. On a windy day go there. The birds are there to get out of the wind I think. Maybe get a drink.
Had permission to hunt a big field like that with the tall "Johnson grass"? . Voo coo pheasants if it was windy. I was jumping deer in there too. Farmer ran me off because he thought my shotgun sounded like a rifle. 22 inch barrel got me kicked off a great spot.
