My buddy said they went from Ukiah downtown to Fort Bragg then back up. He said it was the most cops he'd ever seen in one place before. Sad deal.

When I was there, Mencocino County Sheriff Deputies were basically pretty good guys and straight shooters. Sorry about the loss of one of the county's good guys.

The officer exchanged shots with the subject and struck him in the leg, causing a fatal wound.

I was told that the dude crawled off after being shot in the leg and was then found dead. I don't know if it's a rumor or not though.

I hope that's the case because he had about 3 clips worth if bullet holes in him so they didn't want an open casket. "Uh, just tell them he shot himself in the head"

well originally arrested in Eugene. Released from there cause the PD failed to get their job done. From there he murdered a college professor in his home then carjacked some dude for for a BMW. Somewhere in all this he came into a 223, SKS and cut down shotgun. Then headed south. Don't know his exact route in Oregon. 199 south maybe? But from crescent city he made his way south on the 101
