Drones are going to get better and better. They can deliver supplies/evacuate casualties in remote places without risking pilot's lives. They said it is inexpensive so they could lose a lot and still be ahead of losing a 47 series helicopter.

I don't get it. Why does it need to be a truck if it's already a helicopter? Where can a truck go that a helicopter can't?

Think about it and your question can be answered. Also consider the folds of terrain and enemy AD capabilities.

I still don't understand how this is useful. So you can fly to the base of a steep mountain then drive the road to the top? The only thing I can really think of would be the ability to fly close to an area that has no place for an LZ, then drive the rest of the way and drop off troops/supplies etc.

Drive under enemy AD, no pilots to get shot down just delivering ammo/fuel, sits down behind a team and is ready if they have to send out casualties. Think about your Dad's job to put out fires, have one of these in reserve to get out of a firestorm.

I love how everyone is knocking this thing. It's not meant to be a production deal. It's a research platform for them to test out new technology. R&D guys fucking R&D...

The Theory of Medium should be a research driver. To ignore it is to just flush money down the toilet.

I blame Assa for this. If he'd only educate the world and bring to light the theory of medium.

I don't know why we don't currently have a chopper that can do this.

Yeah seems like it wouldn't be too hard to do. And could come save the lives of guys who are putting their own lives in danger to save others lives. Even if the damn things were just designed to float in case of a crash.
