Got formally presented my medal for that fire that I put out that happened in February/March of this year. I am thankful to have been lucky enough to have my family by my side while it was awarded to me. I am also lucky to be alive.

Thanks everybody, I was simply doing my job and thankful that I saved two other peoples lives by doing what I did.

What medal did you get again?
It was originally a Bronze Star. However, the powers that be deemed my actions not worthy of one. So I got a meritorious service medal. Which is one step down from a Bronze Star.

Congrats! But the real question is, how many dicks got sucked to get an award that fast? I've seen multiple bronze stars and one purple heart given and none were within a year of the incident.
