Guess what I got in the mail?
Posted: Fri Dec 06, 2013 5:28 pmMailman knocked on the door and asked my wife if we were pulling a trick or prank on the mailman. Told my wife that there was a duck in the mailbox. My wife told him to just take it out and drop it on the ground and I would tend to it when I got home. Mailman said, you don't understand, it's a live duck.
Of course, my wife called me in a panic and I told her to handle it. The duck couldn't fly because it's broken wing had healed wrong but was otherwise pretty lively. Ended up in the neighbors back yard. Their four year old wanted to know if they were going to eat it or keep it as a pet.
It ended up in my small dog kennel and was taken to the bird rescue people. I got home just in time to see it before it left in the kennel.
Lots of excitement for about an hour, glad I wasn't home.
Seems like some of my young friends on their first "days off" from the oil fields started drinking and thinking up stupid shit to do. Ha-ha! The inside of my mail box was covered with duck shit. Ha-ha your ass!
