Hey Dan

In the last week I have seen no less than a dozen road killed oldsquaw and goldeneye on the side if the road along the boardman river where it isn't frozen, seen a few dead scoter on the bays ice fishing. Before this year I have never seen a dead diver on the side of the road, I can only imagine there had been a pretty serious kill with all the ice, figured you may be in the know?

Talked with some biologists on Saturday, said they've been finding dead birds all sorts of weird places.

Lake Michigan usually winters 30k squaw and with the lake near 70% covered in ice, I've got to believe those numbers are going to take a big hit.

Good news is, we should have some of the best nesting conditions we've seen since 96-97

I read 94% was covered in ice.

The important thing, is that the areas 10~ miles offshore where they can feed are frozen over still
