LST (end): 5:23pm
Weather: Cloudy/snowing off and on
Temp: 26
Wind: 8-12 mph out of north

Went solo (had the day off work because I worked late on Thursday). I knew it was going to be a good hunt the second I got on the water, I could hear duck chatter up in front of me as soon as I pushed off from the dock. As I exited the stream and entered the pond I was going to hunt, I jumped 150-200 mallards and 2 wood ducks. So, expecting them to return shortly, I quickly put out my 6 decoys stashed my kayak and stomped thru the ice and mud to get to my hiding spot. The ducks did not disappoint and started returning before I had my gun loaded and cammo mask on. It took me 7 flocks, 6 shots, and 45 minutes to get my 1 man limit and boogie on out of there.

Most memorable duck was the final for the day, I had just retrieved a duck and was paddling my kayak thru the decoys when the mallard on the left in the pic decided to hover 15 feet above my head for what seemed like minutes... he just made it too tempting so I pulled my gun out and shoot his head near clean off.
