Got after some honkers on Friday before heading west for the pheasant opener. Not many birds flying, but the ones we saw worked great. Ended with 8 big Canadas.

Great pics. Wish I had Canadas in my area. If we see them they are way high flyers.

Thanks. We're still pics from a video using my Sony action cam. Taz will not be creeping out of his blind next time.

After marking brant off our list, it was time to go after some Aleutians before heading home that afternoon. One group and everyone got a bird, mission complete. Got Taz out to where a bird landed and was running off. I could tell when he finally got scent, made an awesome 400 yard track, losing sight of him over a hill and down into a slough. What a sight to see him coming back with the bird. Proud papa.

Shaun visited last weekend for a few hunts. Many more should have fell today, but fun was had. Ended with 10 Canadas. Duckdog and duckdozer also joined.

Hunted a cattle pond today, 100 greenheads and a handful of geese had been using this pond daily, as usual, very few visited while hunting. 2 Canadas and 2 greenheads did fall victim, once again should have been more.

It's going to be a close one if I get to come this year. I'm going out of town the weekend before so it's up in the air. I hope I get to come!

Not anymore. Takes very severe weather. Back in the 80's it wasn't uncommon to have a million birds in west kentucky and southern Illinois. Last year was the best we have had in a very long time and survey after New Years had us at 80k. A few locals that know the game all too well. I had a layover in Chicago last week at ohare and it is crazy how many geese are there.

Out with dad and bro this morning, more catch and release hunting. Let way too many birds fly off, though a great time was had. 4 Canadas, 1 greenhead
