While out today getting a part for my truck went to a town I never been before. While trying to find the place I noticed alot of Amish homes and people. Then noticed alot of honkers and snows in some fields our season for hobkers is closed but was just curious is it impossible or would I insult them if I drove up and asked permission to hunt tjere fields? Thanks..

If the Amish are anything like the Hutterites in Alberta and Saskatchewan. They are the salt of the earth. Great people, and it wouldn't hurt to ask. Worse thing they can say is no. I've never got turned away, and I've hunted on a few Hutterite farms up there. They jumped in the truck to show me what fields the birds were using.

You could always offer yourself and/or son for help around their farm in return, if it didn't work.

This^^ and the ones I met in Canada like to drink straight whiskey when the other Hutterites aren't looking.

I'm surrounded by them. Largest concentration in the US is 18 miles from my door. I hate everyone of them.

Why do you hate them? The only thing I know of the Amish is buggys, beards, and the mafia.

Yet use all of our services, their horses put a permanent rut in the road from their hooves, roughly right where your passenger side tires go, creating a death trap when the rut fills up with water every time it rains, they act like you've not even there when driving, and they stink. A lot.

Bullshit.

I will guarantee you I've seen more Amish tax returns than you have, and they are without a doubt the absolute WORST when it comes to tax planning.
I've seen guys pay more tax in one year that you will pay in your entire LIFE.

They pay tax here also. The only thing I know they "get away" with is following the building code. Apparently they dont want smoke detectors in their house:lol:
