Has anyone tried leaving a few decoys in a field or pond to attract geese to your hunting area

Best way I have ever found is huge piles of corn! Seriously though, I don't think that will really work, unless they find something there to keep them coming back. Not necessarily food. Shelter, safe haven, grit, etc. Although corn will keep them around. Lol!

I've seen the case argued for salting a field with decoys for both Canadas and specks and cannot speak to Canadas. But it sure appears to me that leaving speck decoys out at blind is more apt to poison the spot by teaching birds that work them that they're bogus.
