missing the goosin!

Honk!

missing the goosin!

Just a little wake-up honk...seeing what's happening now that 90% of us are in the off season?! Birds are already pairing up, but there is still some good goose music in the air. I miss it for now...

"Big Al" may have tipped him off. Our geese are long gone on their way back to the Arctic Circle or thereabouts, so the withdrawal is easing up a bit. Though it's still kind of creepy to be in the field and not even hear them.

"Big Al" may have tipped him off. Ha. Very possible....

Cree natives get to hunt dark geese right now on their lands in upper Ontario as they return. We hunted with the Cree this past fall near those areas. A ton of tribal history around goose hunting/ mouth callers, etc. We filmed with Vertical Descent Outdoors. This segment will air in early April on the Pursuit channel.

I was "mising the Goosin'" most of the end of this last hunting season. :(

The warm weather in these parts lead to fat birds that wanted to sit on protected roosts and not fly!
