Looking back

Looking back

Postby DComeaux » Mon Jan 04, 2016 10:21 pm

I'm siting here going over the logs and pictures of the last five years and seeing the decline in birds taken. We did have some really memorable hunts, especially when the mid section was plowed a few yeas ago and we could get after the specks, but the ducks taken were very low that year.

This was a hunt with my son and daughter from five years ago, 2011-2012 season. This was our first year at our current location and the duck numbers stayed fairly steady in the area.

A hunt the from the following year with my son 2012-2013. We had a few good hunts this season.

This is 2013-2014. This was the season for the specks with low numbers of ducks taken.

2014-2015 This was our best hunt of the season. Good weather days with no birds. Farm mid section not dressed for success and a leaky blind.

It's really nice to look back at the hunts that made me smile and kept me coming back for more, especially with the way this season has treated us. I hope we get to finish this year with a little more cooperation from the fowl, but it's not looking good.

Well, that clears up what's happened to your spot: no more red boots. Gots to gets you some.

A friend sent me some photos of a trip we made 15+ years ago to Dumas Arkansas and I thought I'd share. We hunted there for a week and and had an awesome time. The place was leased by a vendor of ours from Shreveport who flew down to pick us up.

Todd, the lease holder and yours truly. Thats me in the back. The smile says it all. :D

I got to fly right seat on the way home. 50 minute flight...so nice.. Collision avoidance radar had just come out and they installed one on this jet. We played with it on the way home.

Anyone tell you that you looked like Santa's illegitimate son?

Truth
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

It was cold, and yes, they were rosy.
