Glad ya'll killed a few Saturday Jarren, despite the warm weather. Bummer about the cannon being so close. I'm curious, as I have heard cannons down in the marsh in Venice as well. I can understand a rice farmer wanting to keep the birds out of a field, but have no idea why there are some cannons down in the marsh below Venice. Any idea?

Two years ago, we were hunting down there and noticed a boom every 20 minutes, on the head, and were concerned that somebody was trying to signal for help because it was so repetitive. Picked up our spread and went looking for them, and found it to be a cannon, and wondered wtf????? Was a relief to us that it wasn't somebody in toruble..........you can die in that big marsh

Of all the guys I know that hunt down that way, not one has ever mentioned a cannon not associated with one of the dilapidated military forts along the river. Has me curious now for sure

Not like there's fields with crops to keep the geese off of

Saw a buffalo headed south from your blind, but can't imagine it went well without water, which I'd heard, but don't know still wasn't there. Don't know, though, because i was on that end late in the day trying to put out a different fire and didn't take a closer look. Pretty much everybody's mad about pretty much everything.

The shallow flood shown there looks better to me than the deep one most want. But I've not seen it in person...

Was just by there again, but harvest equip was on the road. Guessing from the pic, though, that the riser is open and water is coming - at least on that side. East side underground wasn't in last year and may not be this year, dunno. Do know the temp pipe he used was crap, while a roll of new lay right there, and I did a lot of dirt work in several places to get and hold anything there:

I did that for last year's crew. Didn't do squat for you this year. Well, except for talk to Johnathan a minute ago about what to look for on that east side.

What flavor was the offensive firearm that failed?
