"They managed to chip two out of a group early on that sailed across the farm and that must have gave them confidence to keep trying."

Middle blind or south blind?

I've mentioned that to them before and will again if the chance comes up.

I was just teasing about the double post. Didn't pay a lick of attention to the math. What really matters is if you had some fun.

Something you should probably check is your north levee. Was on the farm today and it looked like too much water in the cut I could see from the barn, which makes me wonder if it's over the levee's west end and cutting it...

But you'll be pleased to know a big wad of big ducks seemed to differ with my opinion of the water depth. Also could see specks standing in the little cut on south side of where you park.

This was more like at least 30-40 specks, but I was on Dolza and there could have more on the other end.

Fwiw, when I was running big goose spreads every day and had birds over-nighting where I wanted to set up, I felt it preferable to put them out after dark, hoping most would then stay away until daylight. Felt there was less chance of them returning if run out in the morning. Which is to say, I'd be out there this evening.

Then if nothing shows tomorrow you can blame that dumbass Hall.

Oh, well. I've been sitting on my hands hoping the guys having been running the marsh end to end just to see what's there - and knowing at least one of them has been. Just how it is.

Didn't have 'em in my pond, but scads of mallards closer than in memory there. Everything's going to be freaked and scatter hither and yon when the guns go off anyway.

"...our back dry/muddy pond..." Isn't the east cut closed up? Won't get deep, but should puddle perfect for geese and big ducks. Just has a hill by the blind.
